Abstract: During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, China's new energy industry has locked four industries: nuclear power, wind power, solar energy and biomass energy. In terms of industrial scale planning, nuclear power and wind power have a large expansion space, which is not very certain at present. The low cost of biomass power generation and the high cost of solar power generation is one of the main reasons for the rapid development of biomass energy in the next five years.
Reporters recently learned from many, "the national strategic emerging industry development" twelfth Five-year Plan "has entered the stage of soliciting opinions. Zhang Xiaoqiang, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission, also said recently that it would strive to release it as soon as possible.
As one of the seven strategic emerging industries, the development of new energy will become the focus of energy industry changes.
It is understood that during the 12th Five-Year Plan period, China's new energy industry has locked four industries: nuclear power, wind power, solar energy and biomass energy. In terms of industrial scale planning, nuclear power and wind power have a large expansion space, which is not very certain at present. The installed capacity of solar energy and biomass power generation is relatively certain, that is, in the next five years to reach more than 10 million kW and 13 million kW respectively. That includes a 160 per cent increase in biomass power capacity from 2010, a target that outstrips the booming photovoltaic sector.
Shi Yuanchun, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and The Chinese Academy of Engineering, calculates that 13 gigawatts of installed power will mean 500 to 700 new biomass power plants, or more than 100 a year.
Zhou Fengqi, an authoritative energy expert and senior consultant of the Energy Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, pointed out that the low cost of biomass power generation and the high cost of solar power generation is one of the main reasons for the rapid development of biomass energy in the next five years.
At present, the cost of biomass power generation is about 0.7 yuan per KWH, while the price of solar power generation is about 1.5 yuan per KWH. In addition, "biomass energy has many uses besides power generation, including gasification, liquefaction and solid form fuel." Zhou fengqi said.
According to the report, the development target of biomass energy is also set, by 2015, centralized gas supply will reach 3 million households, the annual consumption of molding fuel will reach 20 million tons, the annual consumption of biofuel ethanol will reach 3 million tons, and the annual consumption of biodiesel will reach 1.5 million tons. Experts estimate that the utilization of all kinds of biomass will exceed at least 40 million tons of standard coal in 2015.
"At present, if we only use agricultural straw and other raw materials, the total biomass energy can be used in China is about 600 to 700 million tons of standard coal." Zhou Fengqi analysis said, although the total is limited, but also considerable.
In this regard, UBS Securities said in a research report, according to the National Development and Reform Commission estimates, China can be used for power generation biomass, the near future can reach 500 million tons of standard coal, the long-term can reach more than 1 billion tons of standard coal, if the full use of agricultural and forestry biomass, installed capacity can reach more than 150 million kilowatts.
